Cognac Prunier 1893 Grande Champagne
One of the best vintage years for cognac in the 19th century had been the 1893 (only 1811 - the "year of the comet" is even more famous). This cognac had been bought by Alphonse Prunier and was kept in the oak barrel for 55 years until it reached the peak of maturity in the 1950s. Then, it was refilled into large glass bottles ("demi-johns").
This cognac might come from Ambleville and was distilled in an Alambic heated with wood.
Bottled in the 80s of the 20th century.
