This incredible bottle of Benrinnes has seen a magnificent 40 years of ageing! It was distilled back in 1979, and left in a single cask for four whole decades. Eventually, Hunter Laing bottled the single malt in 2019 for the Old & Rare Platinum selection, with the cask yielding 208 bottles at a cask strength of 42.1% ABV.
Tasting Note:
Nose: This bright gold whisky has notes of dried pineapples, furniture wax and green herbs on the nose.
Palate: Oily and waxy in the mouth, with more fruity notes - orange, papaya and guava.
Finish: The finish is long, fruity and satisfyingly drying.
